Stand Out is a new project, focused on bringing good music to venues around Sydney. The first instalment features triple j winners Lunatics On Pogosticks, as well as Sydney’s Tim Fitz, The Money Go Round & Birds With Thumbs.

STAND OUT Presents is a new Sydney based initiative, run and promoted by music enthusiast Michael Hardy. We're simply doing what we love... finding good music and putting it on for good people to see.

The first installment will be held at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney on 5th JUNE, 2014.

Lineup:
Lunatics On Pogostickscall themselves "Teen Aussie Repscallions" and say they play "Delicious Lo-Fi Garage Pop". That's pretty spot on.
2013 saw LOP take out first place in Triple J's Unearthed High Competition, winning them high rotation on the youth network station & making a name for themselves through tours and support acts with Grinspoon, Closure In Moscow, The Jungle Giants, Millions, Palms, British India & Many More, as well as being invited to open up the main stage at Byron Bay's installment of Falls Festival.

Tim Fitzcame onto the Sydney scene in 2011 with two independently produced EPs that won him the hearts of Sydney radio heroes, FBi and the attention of a slew of Australian and international blogs. Since then he has been featured on Home'n'Hosed on Triple J and has gigged consistently around Sydney and east coast area, gaining a following of live-loop enthusiasts. A finalist in FBi Radio's Northern Lights competition, and featured on many international websites such as 'The Guardian', it is no surprise that he has been invited to share stages with the likes of Oh Mercy, Flume, Matt Corby, Elizabeth Rose and The Townhouses, to name a few.

The Money Go Roundare two brothers that put their own spin on 60's garage and psychedelia. After the release of their previous single 'Endless Sun' with artist Jmotor on vocals, the band had a string of great live shows supporting bands such as a Papa Vs Pretty, The Snowdroppers & tours with Kingswood, The Griswolds and The Belligerents.

"This is dirty, swampy psych rock with a relentless energy and plenty of hooks that pick you up and drag you along with it. My only complaint is that it's over too soon." Dan Buhagia, triple j.

Birds With Thumbsplay raw garage pop, as 3 young dudes who love to party. Their catchy tunes have seen them get airplay on Triple J Unearthed and FBi Radio. There's something really special about an act that are just starting to be recognized...the excitement these guys deliver on stage is not to be missed.
