Niche are proud to present Ladi6, returning to our shores to celebrate the release of her latest record, the Royal Blue 3000 EP, playing headline shows up and down the East Coast this July.

Ever striving for higher heights and more profound musical experiences, Ladi6 has once again flipped the script to create the Royal Blue 3000 EP. After the Top 5 success of 2013's Automatic recorded in Detroit with celebrated hip hop producer Waajeed, it would have been easy to hit rinse and repeat. Instead Ladi, partner Parks and band members Julien Dyne and Brandon Haru instigated the The Alpha Sessions. This involved partnering with Red bull to take their studio set up on stage to improvise on new material and deconstruct catalogue classics in a nationwide series of shows, performed with no musical safety net, in 2015 and then again in 2016.

High risk and high reward, the instinctual naturality and unconventional opportunities offered in improvisation have inevitably, and joyfully, infected the recording process of Royal Blue 3000. The result is an adventurous vivid wash of copacetic synaesthesthetics, that revels in process disruption without sacrificing scrupulous songcraft.

With Royal Blue 3000 Ladi6 manages to travel further, and still arrive closer to home, on a deeply personal and musically transcendent journey.
