Event Details

The Harpoon Harry Vivid Sydney / May 26th - June 17th program seems pretty complete as it is; full of the most concentrated quality local and interstate deejays, live acts and epic party crews to ever play our beloved Cuban Mansion! We literally can't wait to welcome you to the dance floor this Friday for Vivid: Post Pluto w/ PP Dance Orbit, Riggles + Adam Strömstedt and then Vivid: Late Night Express: Simon Caldwell b2b Myles Mac (Melb) on Saturday... And for every other event over the next four weeks!

But what's a Harry's party season without an epic House Party!

So far we danced with Moodymann, The Black Madonna, Chez Damier and Mood II Swing - this time we continue of tradition of pioneering Americans but we've also stopped in via Auckland and own backyard for some epic live jammers and deejays!!

Starting at the top we're so stoked to welcome one of our legitimate favourites!

Rick Wilhite

Detroit - born, raised and residing in - that's the first, the second and the last thing you need to know about Rick Wilhite. Although he may not be as talked about as his Detroit peers and fellow 3 Chairs collaborators Kenny Dixon Jr. (aka Moodymann) and Theo Parrish, there's no doubting Rick "The Godson" Wilhite's position as one of the central characters in the city's house music heritage. Influenced by Detroit's legendary pool of musicians he entered production studios at the early age of eleven and since then he has dedicated his life to the music industry. Working in a record store was his first step along the way and after learning the ropes of the vinyl industry, he set about becoming a shop proprietor in his own right. The House of Music was his first venture, and up until its closure late last year, he was the owner of Vibes New and Rare Music. He learned at an early age that a career in music takes more than playing your favourite records. Multi-faceted crowd control, sound engineering and creative party promotion are what make him more than a Detroit DJ. 20 plus years of DJing clubs and parties makes him one of Detroit s best. And we've got some very epic supports for Rick...

Frank Booker

An ultimate Frank Booker tune is all about reinvention, about stripping back the layers of a record to find that perfect sample. Off the back of releasing some killer edits through the world's most respected disco & deep house labels such as Wonderful Noise (Japan), Sleazy Beats (Netherlands), Razor'N'Tape (USA) and Disco Deviance, Booker has built a worldwide reputation for his amazing DJ sets and production skills. He is also known as a crate-digging authority having co-hosted the highly acclaimed 'Hit it & Quit It' radio show alongside the legendary Recloose. As a DJ, Booker has played alongside the likes of Moodymann, Francois K, Tiger & Woods, Bill Brewster, Dam Funk, Kon, DJ Day, Trus'me, Kid Sublime, Rich Medina, Max Graef and many more. Booker's music encompasses a wide array of quality dance music from the deepest Disco to 80s boogie and cutting edge house music.

The Posse

The Posse are a new face to many people but they are a collection of some of Australia s most talented electronic music veterans. The five piece established themselves quickly in the Sydney electronic music scene supporting NO ZU on their Afterlife tour and also scoring a Vivid residency at Cakes Wines Cellar Door. After a year of knuckling down in the studio and a string of sold out shows they ve boiled down their favourite influences into an incredible, raw, funked out live show and production team. Together, Andrew Elston (Physique/Toni Toni Lee/Catcall), Ross Ferraro & Jarrol Renaud (AKA The Goods), Michael Di Francesco (Touch Sensitive/Van She) and NZ jazz keys prodigy Andrew Bruce, deliver funk and disco with the beat of soulful Detroit and Chicago house. The Posse s debut EP 'Our Thing is out now on Plastic World.

Simon Caldwell

The man requires no lengthy paragraph, it's Simon F*ckin' Caldwell!

These legends among legends will be joined by Rimbombo, Taridas (Sydney Pony Club) and Keep It DISCO, three crews laying down non stop disco in the Lounge on Level 1!

Stayed tuuuuuuuuuned dancers, we're going large...

Again!
