Event Details

Good times veteran Norman Jay, will be making his annual pilgrimage Down Under for a special show on Sunday January 24 at Manly Wharf Bar.

Promising his trademark eclectic mix of funk, soul, motown, disco and dance music, the London legend's once-yearly shows at this sun-drenched venue have become an institution for Sydney's music fans.

Known as the DJ's DJ, Norman's career spans decades behind the decks and has received official recognition with an MBE from the Queen for his talents and dedication to the scene.

From playing New York's Paradise Garage in its heyday alongside the late Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles to his celebrated sets at the Notting Hill Carnival, Norman Jay is a pioneer of dance music. As the face of the world's biggest street party attended by over a million people, made famous for his epic arena known as the Good Times Sound System, he's one of the world's most respected DJs. He's played for his big names such as Mick Jagger (his 50th birthday no less), Prince, Will Smith and the Beckhams. Norman was also invited to play for President Obama's inauguration celebrations. Testament to his popularity in Australia, Norman Jay was invited to open the Sydney Festival in 2012 aboard the iconic Good Times bus, shipped over especially from the UK in his honour. Now Manly Wharf Bar will be hosting the man himself for what is guaranteed to be the party of the summer.

Keeping the party thriving right through the night alongside Norman Jay will be local stalwarts Peter Glass, Benny B-Sides and Trent Rackus.
