Celebrate the foundation anniversary of Motown Records on this day in 1959 with the “Dancing In The Shadows Of Motown” live show.
Motown music is known in legend as "the sound of young America, 3 decades of music".
The 12 piece band features many International and some of Australia's most respected singers and musicians playing classic hits from the "Standing in The Shadows Of Motown" movie/album in the first set, then a second Motown dance set to take the night out.
Hear classic hits including: Reach Out, Heatwave, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Dancing in The Streets, Uptight, You keep Me Hanging On, WAR, What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Standing On Shakey Ground, My Girl and ABC as well as some more obscure dance groove tracks such as Shotgun, Cloud Nine and The Flick.
The band will play the best songs from the enormous catalogue of: The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Martha and The Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, Edwin Star and many more.

Patou Powell: Vocals - tours with Melbourne Ska Orchestra, The Protesters etc.
Michael Gubb: Keyboards - played with Crowded House, The Whitlams, Gangajang, D/Hepnotics etc.
Rex Goh: Guitar - Australia's most recorded guitar player, Ex Air Supply, Midday Show, everyone.
Jason Bruer: Sax - Ex Jools Holland TV band, played with Sting, BB King etc.
Craig Bodinnar: Producer/Bass - ex. The Aretha Franklin Experience, Stevie Ray Vaughan Celebration
Tony Boyd: Drums - ex. Mal Eastick Band, Wolf Mail, The Drifters, Simon Kinny Lewis etc.
Adrian Veale: Trumpet - ARIA Award nominee, played with Jessica Mauboy, Dami Im , Flume etc.
Mike Raper: Trombone - Sydney session player, High Tops Brass Band, The Groove Academy
Dinner & Show tickets include entry, seating and 2 course meal.
Dinner & Show tickets are only available via Moshtix.
Some Dinner & Show Bookings may be on a shared table. Please let us know at the time of the booking as a special request should you prefer not to share, and subject to availability we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Note it is not possible to join ticket holders together across ticket groups (meaning A Reserve ticket holders cannot sit with B Reserve etc).

The Basement has very limited accessibility for patrons with disabilities, however please contact the venue to ensure there is adequate availability for you to enjoy the show comfortably and they can advise on the recommended seating options.
