Baldwins “Fear of Flying” tour w/Bonewoman Tickets
7:30pm, Sat 2 September, 2017
BONEY, MELBOURNE, VIC
Tickets: $10.00 Doors: 7:30pm
Off the back of releasing their new EP "Fear of Flying", Sydney progressive soul band Baldwins are touring the East Coast throughout September 2017. The group unleashed their brand of sensuous, soul groove earlier this year, with their banging lead single, Goldbrick, being placed on rotation by FBi Radio and the lush, jazz-tinged Dirty Sheets getting attention on Triple J. Now the soul collective is back with an impressive 6-track under their belts. Citing eclectic influences such as Thundercat, Radiohead and D'Angelo, Baldwins' sound is one to be experienced; boasting a fiery rhythm section and soaring horn section, combined with the divine vocals of singer Courtney Josh. On the 2nd of September at Boney, Baldwins are joined by Melbourne greats Bonewoman.
Baldwins is an eight-piece progressive-soul band hailing from Sydney, Australia. Taking from the rhythmic groove of neo-soul/hip-hop, the textures of electronica, and lush jazz-tinged harmony, these inspirations have amalgamated in an unconventional sound that is entirely their own.
The group has garnered a strong following within the Sydney music scene and a reputation for their energetic live shows, regularly playing headline shows throughout Sydney in venues such as Venue 505, Manning Bar and The Sly Fox.
Recording at Sydney's Parliament Studios throughout 2016, the band released their long-awaited debut E.P. Fear Of Flying in August 2017.
