Adventure Bay Blues and Roots turns 10 in 2017.

Boutique, down to earth and inside the warm and inviting Adventure Bay community hall. Visit Bruny Island in June, and you can be almost guaranteed that there'll be fog, cold and possibly some rain. As Tasmanians prove time and time again, winter festivals are fun, with a warm cocktail, a roaring fire pit and some warm clothing, Adventure Bay Blues and Roots Festival has that laid back cosy vibe that you wont find anywhere else.

Festival organiser Rhiannon Salter says: "This year, we wanted to capture the essence of the previous festivals. A good chunk of solid blues, some wonderful unique talents and some great tunes to dance to. Many patrons return every year, and there are some firm favourites that we had to include in this milestone year. In particular, Pete Cornelius has been an incredible supporter of Adventure Bay Blues and Roots Festival. I'm blown away every year by the quality and craftsmanship of his music, he brings something special every year. Playing Groundswell in full in 2016 was amazing."

Also returning in 2017 are other festival favourites such as Guthrie, Delsinki Records with Brooke Taylor, Surfasaurus, and Yesterday's Gentlemen. Appearing for the first time this year, we're excited to present Mangus and his unforgettable guitar and vocal style, as well as Montz Matsumoto whose original banjo compositions are both bluegrass and Japanese, seeing him take home the buskers award at Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Last years successful inaugural mash up Saturday Jam Night returns, hosted by Yesterday's Gentleman's David "Eddo" Edmondson, who will guide you through the your whole festival experience. You can expect mixing and matching of the incredibly talented musicians, and sets from The Firmm and The Bootleg Gin Sluggers.

Adventure Bay Blues and Roots Festival 2017 runs from 5pm 10th June and 2pm 11th June. Tickets are $55 from Moshtix and Republic Bar and Cafe.
