Ready to come Back to Mine with breakbeat icon, ADAM FREELAND? The Marine Parade legend joins us at Villa, Friday 7 February 2014.
From Burning Man to Watergate to Coachella and beyond, you'll often find Adam Freeland behind the decks, igniting minds and dancefloors alike. With 17 years of extensive global touring history behind him, you might have caught the U.K. born, Cali bred, Brighton living, Grammy-nominated DJ/producer whipping up main-stage audiences at the world's biggest festivals - or reveled in him dropping deep and dirty sounds in the most discerning underground clubs across the globe.
The first climax in the Adam Freeland story was the release of Coastal Breaks in 1996 - he highlighted syncopated funk and groove to the 4/4 thump of dance music back in the day. He showed his diversity across the next five mix albums (including ones for Back to Mine and FabricLive), but it was his debut album in 2003, Now and Then, that thrust Adam Freeland into superstardom. It featured the smash 'We Want Your Soul' and his remix of Sarah Vaughan's 'Fever' (nominated for a Grammy before it was common for dance music to get Grammy's).
Throughout his career, Freeland has always been as much a recording artist as a record spinner. Many of his productions have appeared on Freeland's renowned Marine Parade label. Freeland's essential re-edits, like his infamous chop-up if Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', consistently prove an underground sensation. Meanwhile, Freeland's many, many remixes have gained mainstream acclaim.
Adam Freeland - he wants your soul.
