Celebrating what would have been the iconic singer’s 70th birthday, Peter ‘Phoebe’ Freestone - speaker, author, personal assistant and best friend to Freddie Mercury - will tour Australia in September 2016.

Presented by First Base Events, You're My Best Friend: An Evening With Peter Freestone will be an intimate evening of personal stories, rock anecdotes, rare photos, unheard audio and audience Q&A covering the 12 years Peter spent living with and working for the Queen frontman.

The pair met in 1979 whilst Peter was working in wardrobe for London's Royal Ballet. They formed and immediate friendship which saw Peter become personal assistant to Freddie the following year, a role he continued in until the singer's untimely death in 1991.

Author of the memoir, Freddie Mercury (Omnibus Press), Peter currently resides in the Czech Republic, a place he has called home for the last 13 years between stints travelling the world to make regular guest appearances at AIDS awareness events and Queen fan conventions.

In the lead up to the Australian tour, Queen and Freddie Mercury fans will have the chance to pre-purchase limited spots on private VIP events with Peter.
