Welcoming very special guests:
- The Sea Gypsies
Following the successful tour that accompanied the release of their debut album, Movements, The Sea Gypsies took a well-deserved rest and began writing music again. What emerged was their own take on the Australian rock scene, with songs that were built upon earthy grooves so strong that their listeners would feel compelled to dance. Their first single of the year, Mexico, details the antics that lead singer, Luke Marlin, experienced while travelling overseas. With hooky guitar riffs, irresistible choruses that’ll get in your head and a video clip that will leave you in stitches, the Gypsies have announced that they are back and they are here to have a good time.
- Moody Beach
Moody Beach is the brainchild of Sydney songwriter Melissah Marie. For Marie, music is a way of documenting what’s happening in her life. Preferring to write a song instead of using a camera, Marie weaves her experiences together letting them live their own lives for her listeners. For Marie, the work is about ‘connection’ and through music & performance she tries to serve up some of life’s honesty and complexities.
- Saint Lane
From the streets of Auckland to across the ditch to Australia, Saint Lane’s life on earth has been anything but a blessing. Born to Fijian and French parents, Lane was raised in and out of cheap motels and homelessness. A life that would begin his manifestation of his own reality - but it wouldn’t be easy.
Assessing the works of Kanye West, Donald Glover, Basquiat, Christopher Nolan and other renaissance figures, as a teenager Lane used art to drift his consciousness away from his troubled surroundings. Lane would construct his own interpretations of these innovators - becoming the blueprint for his own originality.
- MC Big Twisty
Ya'll lend an ear, Imma take you right back to where it all started, the streets! Imma take you on a journey, a journey of a young boy turned rap artist, turned bad boy. A man who decided to bust the lid of the whole rap scene. Introducing MC Big Twisty!
- Little Island
Little Island are an indie rock group from southern Tasmania, playing together throughout their high school years and being regulars on busking corners around Hobart.
