December 6th Woolly Mammoth Mane Stage will be celebrating the Women who Rock.

Female artists are very few in the music industry and many work hard to be recognised for their talent.

MMK Music Promotions has bought together six very diverse acts to showcase what we have here in South East QLD.

Saint Skirts will be opening the day at 3pm with their melodic vocals and fresh approach to todays music.

The Duo came onto the scene in 2019 after working together for many years and bring with them an innocent approach to their original music.

Grace Drummond is a powerhouse singer/songwriter originally from Toowoomba. She is best known as the frontwoman of Australian skate-punk trio, Something Something Explosion.From performing country music at an early age with her mother, Grace has always been a force to be reckoned with. Affectionately known by punk rock heroes, Frenzal Rhomb, as their illegitimate child, Grace’s lyrics are brutal and honest. While her riffs and melodies hit you like a “punch in the face!”It’s been a long road from the Urban Country Music Festival in 2014 to singing to crowds of thousands at Violent Soho’s two sold-out Christmas shows in 2017 and with Bodyjar at “Hotter Than Hell” festival in January 2019, as well as joining Frenzal Rhomb on stage at their 2019 "A Frenzal Rhomb Christmas Special" show in Newcastle. Consistently striving to be strikingly different to the mainstream music scene, Grace is unrelenting, unapologetic, direct and raw. As a solo artist and in the punk rock trio, her stage presence and sincere personality always leave you wanting more well after the house lights have come on.As a cover artist Grace has worked hard over the last few years to build a reputation and name for herself in Queensland and has recently relocated to Victoria to grow as an artist and expand her fan base.

Hit’n’Mizz are  Brisbane based, female fronted, original music playing Rock Band. If you were to be asked to choose a species of bird that has the most in common with Mizzie Maxx; the lead of an exciting new band in Brisbane; a loud, showy flamboyant bird of paradise would immediately come to mind. However; closer investigation would reveal the cheeky, mischievous Bower bird would also be an apt comparison. Like the audacious Bower bird that seeks out the brightest and shiniest objects as treasures to take back to the nest, Mizzie Maxx sought out who she considered the most gifted and talented musicians from local bands around Brisbane and stole them away. Lead is Mizzie Maxx, an edgy writer and performer. She is a rock chick on a mission. Slije Mchreech is a legend in the making on Bass. Mathew Tuxworth shreds guitar and Shep can make a drum kit beg for mercy. Together they are” Hit’n’Mizz”!

Krave are Brisbane based and graduated together from Music Industry College. Krave’s influences stem from the likes of Pantera, Karnivool, CKY and Halestorm. Members, Siana Davis (rock chick, red headed singer/bassist), Ryan White  (head banging, shredder ) and Charlie Gates (our cymbal smashing, energetic machine of a drummer) are hardworking, they live and breathe their passion and deliver the best show imaginable. Krave give everything to their audience. Every song. Every show. The band’s mission is to gig, gig, gig so fans crave more from Krave. Dynamically expressive alternate metal band Krave will leave you in a state of craze and bone buzzing adrenaline through their heavy riffs, exceptional vocal power and energetic stage presence.

All Hours are a five-piece pop-punk band from Brisbane. Influenced by rock heavyweights such as Paramore, A Day to Remember, Blink 182 and Sum 41, the gang bring their energetic spin on the genre with their poppy melodies, frenetic riffs, and female-vocalist Dani at the helm. 2018 saw a fresh line up, with guitarists Richard and Alistair joining Dani alongside Stewart (bass), and Jono (drums). Individually, the five played with a number of Brisbane outfits for 10 years before combining powers to form All Hours in 2015. Bringing the full force of their experience to their energetic live shows, they have played venues across Brisbane including Tomcat, the Brightside, Backroom, and Greaser. With two EP releases under their belt—a self-titled debut in 2015, followed by 2017’s Sightseeing—All Hours latest single is a cover of Amy Shark’s hit song, ‘I Said Hi’, which is given second life with the band’s signature heavy spin and a film clip. Following this, All Hours Released a film clip for their single “Saving Grace” which they supported with shows for the first half of the year. The band have dedicated the past six months to writing and recording a new EP which will be released at the end of the year. All Hours will be releasing the EP’s first single, Black Rose, in November.

Based on the far north coast of N.S.W, Valhalla Lights are a juggernaut of heavy riffs, coupled with the soaring and angelic but powerful melodies of Ange. VL encapsulates volume, with a live show punishing the stage with an intense wall of melodic sound.2015 saw the release of VL’s debut album, Krypton which was created posthumously using the pre-production vocal recordings of the band’s first vocalist, Phoebe Black, who had tragically passed away just days before the band was to enter the studio. The release of Krypton was charged with emotion for all involved and the band created film clips for

In 2015 Brent, Deon and George were joined by kindred spirit Ange Saul (The Black Lullaby) who has previously played Canadian Music Week and was invited to SxSW. In May 2015 Valhalla Lights supported the Baby Animals and the Superjesus at the Tivoli in Brisbane and received a massive crowd response to their energetic and melodic live show. My Gracious Highway’ is a slow release album with one track being digitally released per month on the first day of every month for all of 2016, and a final track on 31st December 2016 to make a whole year of Valhalla Lights. The band will release a CD version of My Gracious Highway sometime in the 2nd ½ of the year and that will allow fans to hear the album in its entirety before the end of the year, but the CD will be available at gigs only. Fans that are happy to stream or want to buy it digitally will need to wait for each song to be released monthly, and will have to wait until the last day of the year to hear the album in full.
