William Crighton & The Family Band w/ Amy Montgomery (IRL)

Touring October 2019

The remarkable trajectory of  WILLIAM CRIGHTON continues in 2019. After gracing some of the most revered festival stages in Australia, UK, Denmark and Canada over the last 12 months, Crighton returns to Australia in October to perform a short run of highly anticipated headline shows alongside a bunch of special guests and his full band, the aptly titled, William Crighton and The Family Band.

The show will visit Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and his homebase of the Hunter Valley at the Dashville Skyline festival.

As this announcement hits, Crighton departs on his second international tour for the year, this time to Scandinavia playing Tönder Festival alongside a run of shows throughout Denmark and Sweden. Earlier this year he was in the UK for the prestigious Black Deer and Boomtown Festivals, stopping off along the way for a main stage performance at Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada.

A purveyor of dark and searing Australiana, his arresting live shows go on from strength to strength. Excitedly, joining William Crighton as part of The Family Band on this run of shows, will be good friend William Barton. Composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, William Barton is widely recognised as one of Australia's leading didgeridoo players and composers.

These will be William Crighton’s only headlining full band shows this year. Expect some new material and a mix of favourites from his two highly acclaimed albums, 2016's self-titled debut and 2018'sEmpire. Crighton’s self titled debut featured "startling raw delivery and intensity" (Courier Mail). The follow up, Empire, has been acclaimed for its "visceral mix of wired folk, gospel invocation, and rock 'n' roll sparks" (Sydney Morning Herald).

Joining Crighton on her debut visit to Australia is Irish singer-songwriter AMY MONTGOMERY. A phenomenal emerging talent who commands attention. Montgomery has a bohemian aesthetic and a voice that channels Janis Joplin and Grace Slick. Montgomery recently wowed audiences with acclaimed performances at Glastonbury Festival and Black Deer Festival in the UK, which has resulted in a plethora of festival invitations worldwide.

“Astounding voice alert, Amy is a great sonic explorer in the tradition of Janis Joplin and John Martyn” – BBC NI Across The Line
