Ready to release your creative side? Recently been to the Escher & Nendo exhibition and wondered how all of those beautiful prints were brought to life? Stretch out those hands of yours and lets get carving!

Meg is a practising artist who uses the medium of painting and drawing, but through her studies in Visual Arts has recently discovered her love for print making. During her studies she has learnt to incorporate printing into her practise, and would like to show you how!
Printmaking is an ancient artform that has been used by artists for many years, and because of that has grown into many useful and interesting techniques that can be used on almost any material. As it is such a wonderfully diverse medium, it can therefore be practised in so many ways and by people of all skillsets.

In this month’s class Meg will be guiding you through the simple but satisfying art of creating a print with lino and ink. Lino is one of the original and oldest ways of printmaking and many of you may remember lino printing in school art class. So climb up those stairs and channel your year 9 selves, get your hands dirty and see what can be created with a little bit of carving and ink ☺

** As this class is a one off and only runs for a minimal amount of time, it is recommended to bring along a design for your lino (if you have one), otherwise some patterns and basic designs will be provided.
