Undercatt hits Brisbane for an intimate techno rave at Sub Rosa on Friday February 14th

Born and raised in Tuscany, a place known to be a hub for house and techno, self-proclaimed brothers Luca and Elia A.K.A Undercatt met after a chance encounter at a club night they were both playing. When a 17-year-old Elia impressed Luca with his mixing skills, the pair’s relationship began to grow. They began sharing projects together as party promoters and ran a small label together for a few years along with some friends. In 2014 they started producing strong atmospheric music together pulling inspirations from modern techno with melodic and emotional elements.

Following their appearance on German label, Golden Area, on a ‘Four To The Floor’ various artist series, Undercatt gained recognition from key industry head, Solomun. From here, they were added to the roster of his imprint DIYNAMIC, marking the beginning of their journey to international acclaim.

2015, saw the release of ‘Carmargo’, a huge track that boosted them onto the Global Stage. Succeeding this was a string of further hotly talked about releases including their remix of The Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’ on 2DIY4 and ‘Coral’ released via Sasha’s, Last Night On Earth.

As time has gone on, Undercatt have expanded their style. As a natural fitting pair that each like to merge melodies with powerful beats and grooves, each bring an individual and complimentary skill set. Luca’s background with piano and playing in bands enables him to step up to the mark, fine tuning melodies, whilst Elia is the tech-wizard of the duo, taking care of the programming, automations and mixing. This special partnership allows them to build all the elements together and polish off tracks at their own accord.

Last year it became the duo’s turn to showcase on DIYNAMIC’s ‘Picture’ series, signaling a particular milestone for the pair. With extensive releases on DIYNAMIC, contributing to ‘Picture’ brought with it a sense of recognition from their long-time mentor and fan, Solomun.

Since they have received support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Danny Howard alongside recording an exclusive after hours mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. Their production credentials continue to stretch as they open their scope to remixes in 2019.

Having lent their skills to underground techno’s, Booka Shade right though to songstress, Dido, Undercatt turn their attention to a melodic rework of Brother Brown’s classic Ibiza anthem ‘Under The Water’; continuing to build their ever-growing release catalogue and deliver their unique brand of music with each twist and turn.
