Trevor Jalla presents: The Soul Of The Blues

Having played festival and club dates across Australia, USA, Europe and Asia over the past fifteen years, Trevor is no stranger to the stage. Combining influences of BB King, Jimmy Smith, Donny Hathaway, T-Bone Walker and Robert Cray, Jalla has carved out a distinctively soulful vocal and guitar style that has landed him onstage performances with Robben Ford, The Holmes Brothers, Syl Johnson and Betty Harris, to name a few. Notable appearances include the inaugural KL International Jazz Festival, Barcelona Blues Festival, International Blues Challenge (Memphis) as well as Byron Bay Blues & Roots and Bridgetown Blues Festival.

Making up the 6pc are the formidable talents of Roy Martinez (bass, vocals), Joe Whittle (drums, vocals), Hans Fiancé (keyboards, vocals), Tim Forster (tenor sax) and Paul Millard (baritone sax). Despite their individual prowess and extensive credentials, they share a common admiration for the blues and operate as a cohesive unit greater than the sum of its parts. Moreover, the vocal capability within the lineup allows the sextet to seamlessly navigate the periphery of classic Motown, '50s soul-jazz and New Orleans R&B.
