Transatlantic with Simone Craddock

WA-born Londoner, Simone Craddock, has made a splash on the British jazz scene with her unique song stylings and irrepressible sense of humour. From Ronnie Scotts in Soho, to leading roles in the West End, Simone’s dual career in Music and Theatre has taken her across the UK, Europe, Asia and The States, for the last twenty years. Tonight, she joins forces with W.A's jazz luminaries, to bring the best jazz, blues, swing and groove from both sides of the Atlantic, home to Fremantle.

Simone & her band explore the "special relationship" between the Great American and Great British Songbooks, bound together tonight, by the common thread of excellent writing and expert delivery.

Swing across the pond with lovingly reimagined jazz and blues standards from the likes of George Shearing, Ella Fitzgerald, Noel Coward and Sammy Davis Jnr. Get your Bossa on as we dance by the beaches of Brazil via the sounds of the Caribbean. Waltz up the coast of Africa to the Nordic Fjords, and re-live the British Invasion as much-loved hits are spun inventively into the jazz canon, such as The Beatles, Kate Bush, Radiohead and David Bowie. Prepare yourself for a raconteur of sophistication and fun, but above all else, a transatlantic journey of ridiculously good music.

 Ben Matthews - Piano
