Tilly O'Brien and Ellen James at the Brunswick Artists' Bar

Tilly O'Brien's music is borne of real human feeling. With emotive music and lyrics she gives insight into a world of sadness, strength and beauty with the idea being firmly held in place by the timbre of her voice and guitar.

Ellen James creates music with vulnerable lyricism and building melodies that cuts in, opens up and leaves you reeling with love, grief, longing and whiskey. Hailing from the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, James' voice is at home both calling from mountain tops and speaking softly to river water. A self taught songwriter, Ellen started out busking on the streets of North East Victoria, and has since played Happy Wanderer Festival as well as supporting the likes of Rose Bassett and Leroy Macqueen.
