Continuing their insane sold out tour in support of celebrated third album So We Can Remember, Thundamentals return to Katoomba RSL for their only 2014 Hometown show.
One Show Only! Tickets on Sale Wednesday 9th July - don't miss out!

After years of well earned respect in the Australian Hip Hop scene and wider music community, hundreds of shows including almost every major music festival in the country and punctuated by sweat and smiles, three acclaimed releases including 2011 album Foreverlution's #19 debut on the Australian ARIA chart, a jaw dropping live show and a fan base that grows exponentially every time one of their groove-laden songs lands on the radio (think 'Smiles Don't Lie', 'Something I Said', 'Brother', 'Paint The Town Red' etc) - it's fair to say that Blue Mountains via Newtown hip hop trio Thundamentals are an absolute mainstay. Clearly focused on the big picture, Thundas are all about using broad brush strokes on their ever-widening sonic canvas, never more evident than on their newest work, their Third LP 'So We Can Remember'.

Debuting at #1 on the iTunes Album Charts and #3 on the ARIA Albums Charts Thundamentals third record So We Can Remember [Obese] cemented the trio as the "new benchmark for Australian hip-hop", explaining how their entire tour sold out the week of the first show.

Singles 'Smiles Don't Lie' - #5 debut on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts and #32 in triple j's Hottest 100 - and 'Something I Said Ft Thom Crawford' -#3 debut on iTunes' Hip Hop Charts, and Top Ten in the Urban Singles ARIA Charts and the Australian Artist ARIA Charts - made sure everyone was listening, and got the hype machine rolling.

But with the record presented by triple j as Feature Album and Fbi FM as Album Of The Week, 'Something I Said Ft Thom Crawford' spinning across the Today Network via the 'Aust Top 20' show, being playlisted on 2DAY FM as well as NOVA 106.9 Brisbane, not to mention the groundswell of support from the community radio stations that gave them a leg up in the first place, it's clear this release goes deeper than hype.

"Paralleling light & dark in their song themes, it's a record filled with deep, soulful lyrics and innovative production, resulting in something completely unique in the local music landscape." - triple j

"Evocative and honest, Thundamentals' So We Can Remember sets a new benchmark for Australian Hip-Hop and is a record we're proud to name our Album of the Week." - Fbi FM

"So We Can Remember has surely shifted into pole position as the Australian rap album of 2014, and is a giant leap forward in local hip-hop's quest to crossover into overseas territories. An Australian hip-hop classic? Maybe it's too early to tell, but this feels very close." - The Vine

"With So We Can Remember, Thundamentals have succeeded in making an innovative, creative, and experimental LP that just works. 8/10" - Tone Deaf

"...strong and vulnerable in all the right places, hard yet soulful where it needs to be, So We Can Remember is definitely up there with some of the best Australian hip-hop LPs to have been dropped in recent years. 8.5/10" - The AU Review

"****1/2" - The Sydney Morning Herald

"Emotional, well crafted, deep and intelligent." - BMA

In the time since they first started work on beats and rhymes in their hometown of the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, the three guys - MCs Tuka and Jeswon and DJ Morgs, all now based in inner-city Newtown - have been all about pushing themselves. With one foot firmly planted in Hip Hop history and the other kicking down the walls, they stride forward growing with them an army of loyal Thundakats and a vast and impressive catalogue of forward thinking songs.
