The Unset - 'Nice' single launch w/ Flynn Effect, Tabula Rasa & Smoke No Fire

After more than three years, Adelaide's noisy alt rock act The Unset, release their first single 'Nice' off their upcoming second EP (TBA). 

Frustrated with the sounds of contemporary rock bands, The Unset endeavour to find the equilibrium between commercialism and experimentalism. 'Nice' is the result of this philosophy. Starting off with menacing synths, they slowly introduce scattered percussive patterns, juxtaposed by singer Elian Hamilton's soaring yet delicate vocals. It continues to build into an alternative rock dance floor filler, but just as the audience settles in, the song is torn down to a tension filled silence with epileptic flashes of what is to come. 'Nice' rewards the listener by holding out on the payoff for a little longer than the norm, and the wait, is worth it.

Having found quick success off the back of their debut award winning single 'Solipsism', The Unset have been honing their live performance while continuing to explore their songwriting capabilities. In this time they have found themselves supporting Sleepmakeswaves, Caligula's Horse, Bear The Mammoth & Greenthief. Their upcoming second EP (TBA) is another step in their exploration of melodies and noise.
