Alt-rock favourites The Rubens are celebrating a decade of their breakthrough, gold-certified album Hoops with three huge nights at Oxford Art Factory’s Main Room on August 22, 23 & 24.
Originally released in 2015, Hoops marked a turning point for the band—catapulting them from promising newcomers to one of Australia’s most beloved live acts. The album spawned hit singles including the title track “Hoops,” which famously took out the #1 spot in triple j’s Hottest 100, and laid the foundation for a career that has seen them headline major venues and festivals around the country.

The Rubens
The Rubens are a five-piece alternative/indie rock band hailing from Menangle, New South Wales, Australia. The lineup features three Margin brothers—Zaac, Sam, and Elliott—alongside long-time friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis
Formed in 2011, they debuted with their platinum-certified self-titled album in September 2012, which reached number 3 on the ARIA Charts and earned a J Award nomination. Since then, they've released five studio albums, most recently SODA in 2024, further establishing their soulful, blues-tinged rock identity
In 2025, The Rubens have remained active with tours—both their Roll Away Tour around Australia and the global SODA Global Tour, spanning Europe, the UK, Canada, the US, and beyond
