Canberra punk outfit Sonic Reducer are not losing any momentum.

The four 20 year olds, Cormac, Lachie, Felix and Louie, are energetic and hard-hitting, with one of the most entertaining live shows this generation has produced.

Following the release of their debut single ONE OF THE LADS, which was released in October 2023, the band has played with the likes of Cosmic Psychos, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Moaning Lisa, and Johnny Hunter. After only being a band for just over a year, they have already played the Metro Theatre twice and created a cult following for themselves throughout Australia.

BETWEEN THE WIRE, their second single, is a short, fast, punchy song about having a crush on a night out. It’s 2 minutes and 11 seconds long, fun, exciting and unapologetically teenage. In a world of Sticky Fingers merch and corduroy caps, Sonic Reducer are a refreshing dose of vulnerability played at a high volume.
