Fig is Tim Burnett, Tim Jennings, Simon Jackman, Jack Chapman, Michael Baltins, and Paddy Morgan. Momentum pulled the group together to record two albums of synth-centered dream-pop ballads.
Fig played a succession of sold out shows at Yulli’s Brewery, The Lansdowne Hotel, The Vanguard, Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar, Factory Theatre (400+ tickets sold) and Mary’s Underground. They recently supported American band Drugdealer at the Factory Theatre.
2023 saw the band release their sophomore album ‘No Need To Rest’, twelve tracks of rich songwriting and production. The entire album was co-produced by Casey Westcott of Fleet Foxes and features vocal cameos from Caitlin Harnett and Scribble, pushing the band into a new sonic era. The release of the album saw interviews on 2ser, rotation on FBi and RageTV, and spot plays across Triple J, Unearthed, 3rrr, BayFM, and many more community stations.
After a hiatus from gigs, the band took on the iconic Oxford Art Factory’s main room and packed it out for one hell of an album launch, receiving a great write up in Sydney’s Time Out magazine as one of the top 20 shows of 2023. With momentum at their heels Fig are shaping 2024 to be one of their largest yet.
