The Kite Machine ushers in a new era with a brand new member, and a pair of groundbreaking singles to take on tour.

With this fresh musical offering, the relentless rhythm section of Kane Sherriff and Liam Brennan is bolstered and enhanced with the rock organ stylings of Cam Jerabek.

“It’s always been a huge part of our identity… you know the power trio thing, but we decided after starting work on the new tracks that there were some colours that we wanted to use that we couldn’t achieve without Cam” says Levi Anderson, musical leader and principal lyricist for the group.

Colourful is an apt way to describe the new offering with nearly 16 minutes of genre bending riff rock between just the two tracks. The singles were recorded, mixed and produced by Anderson at the band's studio in the Barrabool Hills outside of Geelong.

The first and more punishing of the tracks ‘5656’ is mind bending in the vain of Karnivool or Tool yet irrepressibly melodic and dramatic. Elastic guitar melodies give way to epic choruses and declarations of reckless abandon “…If we die tonight/at least we’ll be together”.

Instant Pretty, the second and longest track follows this trend by disregarding The Kite Machine formula and running a gauntlet of slick groove and guitar acrobatics into an extended emotional chorus that reads more like a moment from early Coldplay.

Emotionally charged and operating at their prime, The Kite Machine continues to push the boundaries of their anthemic groove rock roots.
