Yours & Owls & The Hotel Illawarra are both excited to announce they will make it official & become each other’s main musical squeeze. It’s an exciting new partnership that will see Yours & Owls take on the entertainment & musical curation role for the venue and help collaboratively realise the historic CBD venue’s full potential. 

To launch the new relationship, they are introducing a brand new weekly friday night party ‘THE FRIDAY JUICE’, with the debut event kicking off Feb 26 with CLYPSO, TEES, Hellcat Speedracer, Club Camel, Parkside DJs + Cove Sound System.

The Friday Juice will see a stacked blend of the best live dance & indie bands plus DJs taking over the Hotel each week to quench your disco/party thirst. Kicking off at 8pm with FREE ENTRY before 11 ($10 after) & the ripest drink specials you can get your mitts on. 

This is going to be the best new party to hit Gong since sliced oranges and it goes late. So get down and get juicy. 

More broadly, Yours & Owls will work throughout the week to program a host of other live music, dance/DJ’s and curated party offerings that will give the venue a diverse and vibrant entertainment offering. 

The Illawarra Hotel has homed an evolution of electronic and live music in Wollongong over the decades; with their iconic outdoor area and dance floor located at the centre of the building, solidifying it as one of Gong’s most unique cultural institutions. Pair that with good food, a late night license, and a covid safe standing area and you’ve got the Gong cold press dreams are made of, extra pulp.
