Lonely Lands Agency presents...
The Beefs | 'Beleefers Aus Tour' w/ LSF // Dribs
Brace yourselves, Australia's bicoastal pub favourite The Beefs have dropped their sizzling new track ‘Ordinary’ and it’s anything but that.
Driven by frontman Sammy Smith, the bands force of collaborative efforts includes Kirin J. Callinan, Julian Sudek (Genesis Owusu, Royel Otis), Micheal Temonty (The Delta Riggs) and Lucy Lucy. Their debut E.P ‘Country Member’, produced by Matt Corby, served as an impressive introduction to their unique sound. Since then, a slew of catchy recordings such as “Punchin’”, “Red Bellied Black Snake” and “In The Blood” have amassed millions of streams, international playlisting and gained support from Triple J.
While 'Ordinary' is imbued with feel-good nostalgia and tongue-in-cheek, this tune is not your grandma's idea of a typical empowerment anthem. No, sir! It's more like a musical glove slap to the overly-filtered, glamorous version of life that social media has shoved down our gobs.
"Ordinary is about the unrealistic expectations that society and social media especially can place on us. Often subconsciously we are seeing what we perceive as better looking people, people on holidays and people with more money. The best person we can ever strive to be is ourselves, our good old, ordinary selves," says frontman Sammy (recent Philosophy graduate).
