Event Details

The Bamboos are set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their much-loved album ‘Medicine Man’ with a special one-off album performance show at The Espy’s Gershwin Room on Friday 10th June.

A revelatory, forward-looking record, with guests including Aloe Blacc, Daniel Merriweather and Megan Washtington alongside the powerhouse stylings of regular singer Kylie Auldist, ‘Medicine Man’ marked another twist in the tale for Australia’s kings of the groove, winning over fans and critics across the globe.

Founded in Melbourne in 2000 by guitarist, producer and songwriter Lance Ferguson and featuring the vocals of the incredible Kylie Auldist, nine-piece powerhouse The Bamboos have continually redefined Australian Soul music.

Amid a glut of revivalists re-treading retro waters, the band have carved out a signature sound recognized around the world that weaves classic arrangements seamlessly with current influences, creating something altogether brand new.

Not only have they received five ARIA Awards and three APRA Music Awards nominations over their nine studio albums, they have long been regarded as one of Australia’s best live bands, regardless of genre. They’ve stormed the stages at key festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Meredith, Bluesfest, WOMADelaide and Falls Festival.
