TEK TEK ENSEMBLE
‘Shake it Like a Wolverine’ is the new album by TEK TEK Ensemble. Two years in the making- and engineered and mixed by the incredibly talented producer, Anna Laverty (Nick Cave, Courtney Barnett, The Paper Kites)- the album is TEK TEK’s first new release in 6 years and features an exciting array of sleek disco, garage surf and psychedelic tropical rhythms. To celebrate the release of ‘Shake it Like a Wolverine’ TEK TEK is embarking on a national tour with an epic, climactic night at Howler on July 26th with old pals, The Sugar Fed Leopards and freaky, new-kid-on-the-block, The Omega Point.
TEK TEK Ensemble formed in 2010 and have performed countless times around Australia and the world including Jakarta, The Pilbara, Berlin, New Caledonia, Bangkok and Paris. The band has is roots in the wildness of late-night Melbourne pub music with the sophistication of jazz and classical performance and the danceability of tropical rhythms and hard-partying disco beats.
