Elana Stone Band with special support by INÊS

Singer/songwriter Elana Stone is an ARIA Award-winning vocalist and songwriter whose style combines instrumental invention with quirk, and inclines to write pop that is by turns exultant or introspective.

If Ella Fitzgerald met Dirty Projectors and Joni Mitchell, you’d have an idea of how Elana’s band projects might sound, but you’d be missing the country and folk influences.

Growing up in Sydney’s Inner West, Elana trained as a singer, vocal harmonist and pianist, and performed as an actor and singer for musical theatre. It was at the ANU’s School of Music, Elana met the Hauptmanns; bassist Zoe, drummer James and guitarist Ben, and friends Aaron Flower and Evan Mannell with whom she would collaborate in various iterations of the Elana Stone Band.

The three-release record cycle for the Elana Stone Band encompasses folk, modern electronica, indie pop and balladry, underpinned by Stone’s signature lyrical vulnerability and ear for melody.

Elana also performs as part of the award-winning folk and country act All Our Exes Live In Texas, who have toured the USA and Europe extensively. Elana also appears as a member of Missy Higgins’ band, and the John Butler Trio, she has recorded and performed alongside Hermitude, Cat Empire, Jackson Jackson, Bluejuice, and comedy troupe Tripod.

Expect a deep dive into her catalogue with an inventive attitude to arrangements, played by some of Australia’s most accomplished musicians. Seating is strictly limited, book now.

Elana Stone (vocals) Aaron Flower (guitar/vocals) Zoe Hauptmann (electric bass/vocals) Evan Mannell (drums/vocals)

Special Support: INÊS

Born in Portugal, Inês Vaz de Sousa grew up as a dancer practising ballet and saxophone. Singing became an obsession after an unexpected opportunity pushed her onto the stage, compelling her to expand her repertoire to funk, soul, big band, swing and improvised jazz. Inês was soon performing across Sydney supported by an exceptional live band of in-demand musicians for acts such as Montaigne, Japanese Wallpaper, Sampa The Great and Ngaiire. To broaden her horizons, Inês moved between New York and Sydney, an experience that brought a contemporary melting pot of influences to her live performances. Expect a fiery mixture of style from some of Sydney’s classiest young instrumentalists, fronted with flash and sensuality by Inês.

Inês Vaz de Sousa (vocals), Godriguez (guitar), Andrew Bruce (piano/keys), Jan Bangma (bass) Miles Thomas (drums)
