Rhythm, sweat, and harmony of South American roots animated by a contemporary spirit.

MIRA is a journey to the roots of South American music. After living and performing in Australia for over a decade, jazz-trained Chilean vocalist Magdalena Mira felt a longing to reconnect with the music deep within her soul. “As much as you do, as far as you go,” she says, “the roots are the strongest thing.” Magdalena has brought together a band of players who are all passionately immersed in the music of their ancestors. Combined with Magdalena’s unique jazz phrasing, improvisation and composition, MIRA is the rhythm, sweat, and harmony of South American roots animated by a contemporary spirit. Wherever you trace your own roots, MIRA will move you.

Magdalena Mira - Singer, Cesar Marin - Bass and Charango, Gavin Ahearn - Piano, Ricardo Cancino - Guitar & Julio Candela - Percussion
