WE’RE BACK WITH A NEW SEASON OF SLAM POETRY!
Back on our beloved premiere stage the Brunswick Ballroom Artist Bar
Slama is a space where we celebrate intersectional community and encourage Artists to bring their absolute best work to the stage.
On November 22nd we celebrate and feature our 2023 Slamalamadingdong Poetry Slam Champion LANE MILBURN
WHO IS LANE?
Champion of participation awards, Lane Milburn is an artist, writer, part-time hobby hopper, and full-time multidisciplinarian. In numbers, Lane is 5'6" tall, 100% unpredictable, is the last to leave the room, and came 1st in the 2023 Slamalamadingdong Grand Slam. In words, he wields a whiplash writing style, rejecting palatable narrative in favor of larrikin-like storytelling, blurring lines between passenger and driver in themes of home, family, and the self; whoever that might be. He hopes you might tell him, but he spent too long in the closet to be put in any box.
3-ROUND POETRY SLAM
- No props, music or costume.
- Poems must be 3 minutes.
- Must be original work.
We are continuing with a pre-registration system to start the new 2023/2024 season and until further notice. $10 for poets to register.
