Charity Event in partnership with Support Act celebrating the Musical Contributions of Scott Niblock
The black dog of depression, anxiety and suicide is something that many of us know all too well, as it touched most of our lives in one way or another. On the 27th January 2017 it tragically struck close to the hearts of many in the Brisbane metal community, as news of the passing of Scott Niblock made its way around.
This tragedy has left a hole in the Brisbane metal family, but at the same time, it has opened the door for some much-needed discussion around the stigma of mental health and the effects it has on the people suffering, their family and friends.
It's this discussion that has led some of Scott's closest friends and some of his old bands to reform and join forces to help open that door even wider and in doing so, raise money for Support Act, an organisation that is doing amazing work with people who are dealing with depression, anxiety and suicide in the music industry.
Put together by RPG Promotions, we have booked an incredible lineup, full of nostalgia, to pay tribute to Scott and to raise money for Support Act.
The lineup for this event will be headlined by Brisbane legends Lynchmada, who have been out of the scene since 2012, but made a welcome return in Adelaide at the New Dead Fest. They are now returning for a once off Brisbane performance, especially for this memorial show, so if you were a fan of the metalcore kings, don't miss them at this show.
Lynchmada are not the only band who are reforming for this special event as they will also be joined by Ignite The Chamber, Irukandji, Amassing The Infinite and Metalwrath, all of whom are dusting off their gear and getting ready to give Brisbane one last nostalgic taste of their respective, unique brands of metal.
The lineup rounds out with bands who either shared the stage with Scott or were friends with him in the metal community and it consists of Amicable Treason, Caetera, Snake Mountain, Undermine The Supremacy and Lavidius.
This will be a show that you don't want to miss out on. Come on down to The Backroom, January 12, 2019 for a trip down memory lane and to show your support in memory of Scott Niblock.
This is an 18+ Event.
