New song, who dis? It's Sahara Beck but not as you've heard her before. Sure it's her voice - still as seductive and elastic as ever - but this time, she's stepping out in an electrifying new direction. 'Here We Go Again' is an intoxicating blast of art pop that grabs you by the ear and doesn't let go.

Lovingly produced by ARIA Award-nominated studio whiz Tony Buchen (Mansionair, Courtney Barnett, Montaigne), Sahara's voice is powerful yet playful, soaring over a lush arrangement of stomping piano, punchy drums and choral samples. It's an inspiring evolution for the independent Brisbane artist who wrote her first tune at 12 and an exciting new page in a CV already overflowing with achievements. We're talking an album, two EPs, coveted festival appearances at Bluesfest and The Falls Music and Arts Festival, support slots with Ball Park Music and Paul Kelly, and a few Queensland Music Awards to boot. Lyrically, 'Here We Go Again' is Sahara's rousing declaration of independence, as she waves goodbye to a one-way relationship and finding strength and joy in solitude. "What a beautiful life, I'm not a slave to love no more, better than I was before," she sings defiantly in the opening line.
"The song's a love letter to myself," she says, before adding with a smile. "I thought I should write one just for me for a change. It's saying you should love others, but don't let anyone drag you down or suck the good energy out of you". "In the past, I'd spent so much of my time chasing love, chasing so many things actually! I realised I didn't need anyone else to make me happy anymore. Instead, I could spend that time becoming the person I've always wanted to be." So at the end of 2017, she packed over 50 new songs and jetted to Los Angeles to bring the best ones to life with Tony Buchen, the renown Sydney producer now based Stateside at his Kingsized Soundlabs studio.

"I spent two years throwing my heart and soul into these songs and my instinct was that Tony could help me take these songs to a place I'd only been dreaming of," she says about choosing him. "I like how much he pushed me as a songwriter every day - more than anyone had before - and he got me to sing in ways I didn't know I could." 'Here We Go Again' is the first glimpse of the gems she's unearthed in those sessions. There's plenty more to come, but right now she's just excited to show fans where she's taking them next. "I'm so proud of these new songs," she says excitedly. "I think they reflect my live set and stage persona more than anything I've done before. Right now I feel like I'm growing so much with every song and that's a lovely place to be."
