Ruby Soho - album launch
DOORS OPEN 7PM // MUSIC STARTS 8PM
Ruby Soho launches her long awaited debut album 'Confessions from the Loony Bin' on Saturday 22nd February at the Spotted Mallard. Ruby's live band includes guitarist Liam Linley (The Bowers), drummer Chris Valdemarin (Money For Rope) and Zak Brown (Easy Browns) on bass.
Very special guests for the album launch are Emilee South & band, Spiral Perm and Emily Ulman.
Ruby Soho is a Mental Health Advocate, and it was her three experiences in psychiatric hospitals which inspired the songs on her debut record ‘Confessions From The Loony Bin’. The record was created as a result of a turbulent five years with the diagonosis of Bipolar disorder and a horrendous experience in psych units. After the rough road she has created something beautiful after a demoralising time.
'Confessions from the Loony Bin' was recorded by Phil Gionfriddo (Jackie Winter), mixed by Phil Gionfriddo and Julian McKenzie (Money For Rope) and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring / Total Control). Ruby's songwriting is mesmerising and catchy, despite the confronting topics, it still will have listeners foot-tapping and singing along while getting immersed into the guitar licks and the crafted melodies.
Ruby Soho is also known as the red love witch / pash rat / The Stang and the guitarist of three piece punk rock band Bitch Diesel who toured nationally with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in 2019 before embarking on an extensive tour of Europe.
Ruby Soho is a long time Melbourne public radio personality presenting PBS radio show Garageland every Tuesday evening between 8pm and 10pm.
