Losing Control returns on Friday February 21st with a very special sojourn at the Gasometer Hotel...

We welcome Quest as part of his Australian debut.

Growing up in Italy, where his first passion was hip-hop, Marco Maranza became inspired by the practice of Francesco Del Garda and soon after immersed himself the craft of playing records. He relocated to London where he took a roll at Hackney’s Vinyl Pimp record store and became further schooled in three decades of electronic music. Eventually, Marco’s discerning tastemaker's ear led hm to Berlin where he could more freely pursue his art.

Now, he is well established alongside his inspirations. Quest is a name that is not only whispered amongst avid heads, but lauded by his contemporaries - a respected circle of dedicated talents sourcing obscure records prime for dance-floor re-contextualisation.

Quest’s approach blends varied styles from golden-era house and spacey techno to UKG and electro with incomprehensible brilliance. His agile mixing allows the most unlikely of combinations to give rise to the most magical dance-floor moments. Many of the records in his bag have laid dormant for years, undiscovered by even the most devoted of music fans. But each cut Quest plays sounds alive than ever, and it is this quality that makes his sets sound so consistently interesting and refreshingly distinct.

A DJ who certainly deserves global recognition, we couldn't be more thrilled to have Quest join us here in Melbourne.

On support we welcome local artist Furious Frank, whose music has appeared on many of Australia’s most respected imprints including Butter Sessions, Ken Oath and Paper-Cuts. Also joining us will be Billus who will provide a sublime soundtrack of downtempo driving into more up-beat selections, with Losing Control’s Luk rounding out the bill.
