Yours & Owls presents
Pub Choir - Canberra
Everybody can sing, and Pub Choir is here to prove it. In just 2 years, Pub Choir has become a
phenomenon in the Australian live music scene. Selling over 35,000 tickets and performing with
some of the country's best musicians, this is truly a show that must be seen to be believed.
Formed by music teachers Astrid Jorgensen and Meg Bartholomew in 2017, Pub Choir
transforms untrained, tipsy strangers into a formidable choir in just one hour. With her unique
powerhouse performance style that is equal-parts comedy, beer and musical genius, Astrid
teaches crowds of thousands how to perform a familiar song in 3-part harmony. Accompanied by
brilliant multi-instrumentalist, Waveney Yasso, the audience becomes the performance.
Every show ends with a huge crowd singalong, which is captured on film by Pub Choir's video
crew. When released online, the audience gets to relive their glorious performance forever. Pub
Choir's videos have collected millions of views online and will leave you smiling for days.
This electric and eclectic show has attracted some of Australia's best musicians to join in on the
fun. Pub Choir crowds have performed with the likes of Felix Riebl, Ella Hooper, Chris Cheney,
Sam Cromack, Patience Hodgson, John Collins, and John Willsteed. In December 2018, gold
Logie winner, Samuel Johnson featured in Pub Choir's Christmas video, where over 2800
Brisbane locals sang together to raise $100,000 for cancer research.
Pub Choir has sold out every show since late 2017, playing some of the best venues around
Australia and New Zealand. Their monthly show at the Tivoli in Brisbane sells out of all 1500
tickets within minutes. Turns out, people really like singing.
It's rowdy, wholesome, and so much damn fun. Come and see what all the fuss is about! All you
have to do is open your sound hole (your mouth FYI).

“I wrote this song because I was tired of believing I was asking too much - when really, all I’ve ever asked for is the absolute bare minimum of equality and respect. It’s a reminder to myself that if I think there’s something better out there, there probably is." more »Get Tickets
