From the quantum realm to outer space, physics is weird. The behaviour of matter at small scales can change how some stars end their lives. How drastic can these changes be, and how do we test these theories on Earth?

Physicists are notoriously inquisitive. Using a combination of ultra-sensitive gravitational wave detectors and radio telescopes, they are probing Einstein's General Theory of Relativity like never before. It's fun, it's fantastic, it's physics!

Professor Matthew Bailes is the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav) and an ARC Laureate Fellow. He uses radio telescopes to explore gravity with pulsars, and helped discover Fast Radio Bursts.
