Sydney experimental duo Party Dozen are making a loud and exciting entrance into 2019 with their self-

titled, fuzz-filled track ‘Party Dozen’. The release will be supported by an east coast tour in April, including dates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane – a run that promises to deliver the noisy, energetic and diverse live show the duo have quickly become known for.

Accompanying the release is an equally as thrilling and disorienting 360-degree video, shot by director Jack Saltmiras, premiered by triple j Unearthed yesterday. The video was captured during the single-take recording of the track at Marrickville’s Golden Retriever, and was filmed through a purpose-created mirror cube designed to include both members in each shot.

“We've been exploring art and how far you can push it, and where that art lives alongside our own environment,” says saxophonist Kirsty Tickle. “We've been taking a lot of inspiration from old cinema and thinking about what kind of visuals our music could sit against.”

“Sonically we always aim for a complete colour spectrum on our releases, it's the way we think about a finished work, there has to be light and dark, different shades and colours to make the work feel fully realized,” Kirsty continues.

“We called this track ‘Party Dozen’ because we think it’s such a good representation of who we are as a band. It’s fun, wild, rowdy, rockin’ and energetic.”
