Original Melbourne Americana Band Paper Jane play Petersham Bowlo Friday 18th June with Sydney troubadour Sam Newton.

In 2012, Paper Jane released their debut album to full page reviews in the Age and Sydney Morning Herald. The following year the band was Unearthed by Triple J. And then...other than a few local festivals, Paper Jane faded into relative obscurity. Frontman, Buck Edwards spent the next few years cutting school lunches and singing his kids to sleep. But the stage still called and the songs came.

Enter fret less bass player Dom Redfern joining band stalwart drummer Tim Lane and the refurbished engine idled at the ready. The band got busy recording and honing the sound until, in the dark days of covid lockdown, released their second long play ‘Across The Reservoir’. A commercially smart decision? No! But people needed something and new music was the difference Paper Jane could make.

‘Across The Reservoir’ was soon featured on the Post To Wire Americana blog and the International Americana Music Show’s best of 2020. The record features big harmonies, seventies swagger underpinning clever songwriting. From heartache ballad to new country anthem, Paper Jane makes a new meaningful submission to the Australian roots songbook.

Sam Newton, fresh from the release of his new single ‘Burning Bridges’, also featured on Post To Wire will complement a quality eve of original Americana music.

This is a Covid-safe show.  Pre-sale tickets only. No walk-ups.

Under 18s are welcome at the Petersham Bowling Club but must be accompanied by an adult.

The Petersham Bowling Club acknowledge the Gadigal of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which this show takes place and pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and emerging and extend those respects to the First Nations peoples of NSW and beyond.
