At OCA OPEN DAY, you will have the chance to sit in a world class music studio and listen to working professionals in the music industry today.

The information session will include:

• A live mixing demonstration with professional music engineers who will showcase the skills needed to mix a professional track for radio
• A studio tour, in which you will preview the workings of a professional studio
• An industry talk from music entreperneur Matt O'Connor (Warner Music, The A&R Department) with an introduction of the Oxford Creative Academy
• Enrolment information for OCA's Courses in 2016
• Q&A sessions with our speakers throughout the day

The Oxford Creative Academy (OCA) is a cutting edge music institute offering practical courses in a REAL WORLD environment, redefining music education. A place that nurtures creative people to recognize their unique talents and develop the skills necessary to succeed in todays music industry. Produced by a creative partnership between The Oxford Art Factory and The A&R Department, OCA will be offering 5 exciting 12 week courses starting Feb 2016.

OCA099 - Fundamentals Course - Learn the core fundamentals that you need to succeed in the Music Industry. This course will guide you to the area where your interest and passions lie, covering Songwriting, Music Production, Audio Engineering, Live Sound and Music Business.

OCA100 - Songwriting Specialisation - Get right into the mind of a songwriter. This course will specialise in Basic Music Theory and Lyric Workshops. Covering in depth rhythm, melody, harmony and defining artist direction.

OCA101 - Music Production Specialisation- A specialisation for dedicated, aspiring producers. This course will dissect Drum Programming, Bass Programming, Synth Textures, Vocal Production, Drum mixing, Guitar Techniques and Production Aesthetics

OCA102 - Audio Engineering Specialisation - Delve deep into the digital and analog music world. This course will specialise in Sound Recording, Microphone Techniques, EQ, Compression, and what it takes to create your own sonic signature.

OCA103 - Business Entertainment Specialisation - Understand all you need to know about the modern entertainment business. In this course we will tailor an individual development plan for launching & managing your creative career, products & portfolios right into the marketplace.

The Oxford Creative Academy is based out of one of Sydney's hottest live venues Oxford Art Factory and Harry Vanda's (Producer of AC/DC) Hercules Street Studios. OCA welcomes you to come see the Hercules facilities and attend a free information session to learn more about their upcoming courses.
