The Parliamentary Triangle will be transformed into Bavaria on Saturday October 20 when Oktoberfest Parklands returns to Canberra after its huge debut in 2017.

Last year more than 4,000 people dressed in lederhosen and dirndls descended upon the lakeside parklands of Patrick White Lawns, and once again Oktoberfest Parklands will bring the very best in bier, kultur, kost mes and cuisine to this one-day festival!

And much more than just beer and pork knuckles, patrons will blow dein mind with a huge craft beer hall, Oompah bands, DJs and the return of the hugely popular silent disco.

O'zapft is (it's tapped)! The traditional opening of Oktoberfest is marked by the 'tapping of the keg'. Last year Oktoberfest Parklands was officially opened by Maria Friedrich-Boerger, the first secretary from the German Embassy, appearing on stage in the main beer hall to tap the first keg of beer. PROST!

Last year's headliners Furnace & the Fundamentals provided an epic Oktoberfest soundtrack, with the nationally-renowned party band bringing the sing-a-long hits and German classics! 2018 will see a huge line-up of bands, DJs and musicians to keep you singing and dancing throughout the day. Oompah bands will provide the ultimate Oktoberfest musical experience, playing traditional German anthems and classic sing-a-longs, and DJs will be rocking the silent disco, all before the huge headline finale! 

The massive lakeside celebration will also be ignited with roaming entertainers, rides and amusements, plus a host of competitions including best dressed and stein holding.

Frau and Herr's will be able to taste their way through Europe with a curated selection of German beer, cider and wine, alongside the nation's most-sought-after and authentic German-style food trucks, featuring Berlin Bangers, Rolling Schnitzel, 2 Smoking Barrels, Volkswurst and many more.

Oktoberfest Parkland's famous Beer Kellners will once again be bringing the VIP service to Patrick White Lawns. The Beer Kellners are fun, friendly and will make your day a breeze. With preferred access to the bars and food trucks, they can reserve tables, take orders and deliver steins and food straight to you and your friends. Bookings for Beer Kellners will be available Thursday August 30.
