Much loved pioneering Aboriginal Reggae Rock Band No Fixed Address are back touring with four original band members ,still rousing the crowds 40 years on.
No Fixed Address Pronounced Revolutionaries in the recently aired classic count Down 1982 episode. Formed in 1979 at CASM Adelaide, pioneering Australian Aboriginal reggae rock band 'No Fixed Address' were at the forefront of Aboriginal Contemporary Music penning many of the original Anthems of Australian Indigenous music. Their influence is wide spread throughout the Australian Music scene and internationally. They were the first indigenous band to appear on the Australian mainstream music circuit and tour internationally. The band supported Peter Tosh on his Australian Tour and have also performed with Ian Dury and the Blockheads, The Clash and Australian acts Cold Chisel, INXS, Men At Work, Lobby Loyde , Billy Thorpe to name a few They are mentioned in both the Peter Tosh and Bob Marley biographies.
The band was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the inaugural NIMA in 2011 and the AMC South Australian Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Having only ever recorded 9 songs, a mini EP and part of a Sound track to the classic docudrama Wrong Side of The Road, the band still managed to achieve legendary status. Since there induction to S.A Hall of Fame the band have reformed in tis original line-up Bart Willoughby on drums and vocals, Ricky Harrison on Rhythm Guitar and vocals Les Graham on Lead Guitar and John-John Miller on Bass, performing at select venues throughout the country. Returning to Melbourne for a show at The Spotted Mallard Wednesday March 21st with support from The Burns' Trio featuring Blackfire and Coloured Stone songwriter & guitarist Selwyn Burns and his Yung Warrior sons Tjimba and Natchi Possum Burns doing an acoustic set.
