2 iconic UK club nights come together for a one off live Intergalactic Funk and Soul extravaganza.

Jazz Rooms makes a welcome return to the Basement after a sell out run of shows in 2009 and 2010.

Proudly presenting for the first time in Australia DJ Craig Charles, acclaimed
actor, stand up comedian, author, poet, radio / television presenter and general all round King of Funk.

The Coronation Street and Red Dwarf TV star has carved out a highly successful DJ career and his Craig Charles Funk & Soul Radio show enjoys cult status around the globe showcasing the planet's funkiest tunes. It is the longest-running show on BBC Radio 6 Music and has had the highest audience share of any programme on the network. All varieties of funk and soul music are played, from classic tracks to the latest releases.

The success of the Radio show has led on to Craig taking to the road for the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club with appearances at many high profile festivals and events including The Big Chill, Glastonbury, and the Vintage Festival as well as UK residencies in London, Manchester and Leeds. The imminent release of The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club compilation album on Freestyle Records is eagerly anticipated. Craig's tunes are guaranteed to tear the roof off any venue festival or house party in the known universe with rip snorting grooves, bass drum banging, brass blaring and blooming brilliant vocals.

Dojo Cuts feat Roxie Ray
Formed late in 2008, it didn't take long for six piece band Dojo Cuts to become Australia's hottest heavy funk unit. The band combine crisp, tight, funky instrumentals with some killer vocals by the delectable Roxie Ray that are in equal parts power and grit. Inspired by the sounds of the 60s and 70s, combined with elements of modern funk, Dojo Cuts create timeless, classic feel-good music. Following in the footsteps of Aussie funk groups such as Cookin' On 3 Burners, The Bamboos, Deep Street Soul and Kylie Auldist, Dojo Cuts are stirring up a storm in the Northern hemisphere and beyond, making them the most likely candidates to become the brightest stars of this fast growing scene.

With heavy breaks coming from the inexorably-in-sync rhythm section, accompanied by a harmonious horn section and the awesome vocals of the one and only Roxie Ray, it's easy to see why this band never fails to get audiences strutting and squawking at their explosive live shows.
Their 2 album releases on international label Record Kicks has secured them massive airplay on radios and dancefloors worldwide, gaining support by musical luminaries including Gabriel Roth (Daptone Records / Amy Winehouse / ) and musical director of The Dap Kings Neal Sugarman .

The Liberators

This 10 piece powerhouse of groove gigs and recording. The Liberators  have already rocked some of the best venues in Sydney making lots of friends along the way. These vibrations have even bounced across the globe with worldwide radio play.

Their debut full-length album on Record Kicks features guests including Jojo Kuo (ex Fela Kuti / The Daktaris / Antibalas) Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra vocalist and percussionist Amayo and Afro Moses. Fans of the band include Dj Gilles Peterson (BBC 6 Music) and DJ/Musicians Snowboy and Ray Lugo.
