Duke of George presents
Nick Turner Conspiracy
Nick Turner Conspiracy counters a weary world with an addictive upbeat optimism, spinning songs of political and personal stories.
They combine the acute observation of Billy Bragg, the irony and intensity of Leonard Cohen with a nod to the hypnotic musical weaving of The Doors to produce rhythm driven songs that counter a weary world with an addictive upbeat optimism. They’ve been described as “Nick Cave cheers up a bit and goes surfing”
With Alan Dawson replacing Phil Bailey on bass they have moved into new territory, fusing reggae rhythms with gypsy tangoesque melodies that deliver a performance that has lots of guts, lots of grooves AND is lots of fun!
Opening the show is Marie O'Dwyer and The Copper Leaves. Marie O'Dwyer and The Copper Leaves fuse joyous world rhythms with bittersweet blues. Engaging vocals, keyboard, guitar bass and loops taking you on a musical journey.
