You Wanted To Be The Shore But Instead You Were The Sea Official Album Launch
The front porch of Natalie D-Napoleon's one-hundred-year-old Santa Barbara cottage was the perfect setting for the Western Australian singer-songwriter to sit down and write a new album. Having long embraced the folkier side of Americana music, Natalie spent the past ten years in California, immersing herself in the traditions of American music. When she returned home to Fremantle at the end of last year, Natalie bought with her a brand new album that she recorded with her American band in a historic chapel nestled in the hills behind Santa Barbara using a single microphone. With the first single - "Thunder Rumor" - already gathering airplay around the country, Natalie will be launching You Wanted To Be The Shore But Instead You Were The Sea at the Duke of George with the help of Dave Brewer (guitar), Ben Franz (bass and pedal steel), Cathi Oliveri (piano and viola), and special guest Matthew de la Hunty.
