Hailing from the NSW coast, Mild West are an alt-rock group who traverse synthesised psychedelic soundscapes. Shortly after forming, the band released their self-produced debut EP Howler, a near-continuous piece of music that toes the line between upbeat indie rock and moody psychedelia. The end of 2017 saw the group take out the coveted Triple J Unearthed prize for Port Macquarie’s Festival of The Sun, as well as securing a slot atFalls Festival in Byron Bay. Since then, Mild West has continued to tour and record, with their sophomore EP Only Sleep due to be released in early 2019. This record seeks to further explore the group’s sonic landscape, with the addition of live strings, choir, and extensive synthesis.
