The Michael J Brady Trio will be joined by States of Chaos & Ellen Kirkwood for a night of improvised atmospheres and grooves.

The Michael J Brady Trio explores the spaces found between 10 strings and a set of drums. Featuring guitarist Michael J Brady, bassist Lauren White, and drummer Cy Donkin, the group has developed a reputation for creating chaotic builds alongside crystalline atmospheres. This set will feature all original compositions drawing on the groups backgrounds in contemporary jazz, indie rock, and folk music.

 States of Chaos is the trio of drummer Ed Rodrigues, bassist Bill Williams and pianist Casey Golden. Long-time collaborators in a variety of contexts, this is a truly equal partnership of three distinct musical voices with a strong connection and almost telepathic rapport. They’ll be presenting music from their two EPs, ‘States of Chaos’ (2019) and ‘Time’s End’ (2020) as well their upcoming album “Fractures’ 

During the 2021 lockdown, award-winning  trumpeter/composer Ellen Kirkwood began searching for ways to make weird sounds using electronics. In her search, she was pointed towards a program called Audiomulch, which proved to be a great way to make a variety of weird sounds. In this brand new set of solo music, she will feed sounds including trumpet, voice, percussion and samples through a variety of effects, filters and rhythmic things. The result; delightful oddities which are at various times ethereal, grungy, warped and hypnotic.
