Since her teenage years in Perth, Mia Schoen has had a knack of seeking out similar-minded musicians to collaborate with, in bands such as Molasses, Driving Past, Sleepy Township, Huon, New Estate, and now Powerful owl.
As a multi-instrumentalist, as well as a prolific composer, she moved to Melbourne in the mid-1990s, and quickly became a pivotal character in the local indie scene.
On Sunday September 15th, The Toff in Town and Miller St. music pays tribute to her phenomenal body of work, by putting a show together with two acts who have been heavily influenced by Mia: Chook Race & Guy Blackman and His Friend.
