Mess Around with The Milford Street Shakers

Remembering Etta James 1938 - 2012

The powerful sounds of The Milford St. Shakers have become a firm favourite with Australian audiences of all ages who love to get up and dance to the Motown and Soul music of the 1960s.

Front woman Mia Matthiessen and her upbeat, high energy 11-piece band will feature; James Vinciullo on bass, Dominic D'Leno on drums, Imogen Thomson on percussion Andy Jarvis on guitar, Austin Salisbury on keyboards, Robert Bresland on trumpet, Mark Sprogowski on tenor sax, Jemima Mills on baritone sax and backing vocalists Taonga Thomson-Lawrence and Roera Mako.

FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST YARA NETO

The spectacular Milford St. Shakers will see Yara Neto (Stratosfunk) return to the stage as the band's special guest following 3 electrifying SOLD OUT Fringe World shows earlier this year when they presented the award winning production: Tell Mama: The Music of Etta James!

ETTA JAMES’ style spanned a variety of music genres including R&B, rock ’n' roll, soul, gospel and jazz. She was a multi Grammy award winner, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Blues Hall of Fame and the Grammy Hall of Fame.

"An evening with the Milford St Shakers involves much more than enjoying the music of one of the state's tightest and most accomplished soul and R&B bands – it's a whole lot of fun."
