Mel Says is a night of Indie Pop and Electronic; House; and Techno as curated by Mel Blue.

Re-emerging from Covid, Sydney's party and live music scenes have been reinvigorated. There is excitement in the air. There are places to dance; to experience new sounds; and to experience music as a community. There is a real sense of joy, and it is inspiring for us all. DJs; ravers; bands; and punters alike are all coming out to support and dance with one another.

This environment feels conducive to cross-pollination between pop, indie, house, and techno. Pop music has always taken from the clubs, but there are just so many bands; producers; and DJs living and working on the unceded lands of the Eora, Dharawal and Dharug nations who are taking inspiration from one another.

Our vision with Mel Says is to curate a night that starts with live bands playing indie electronic and pop music, and as the early hours of the morning creep around, move through to the House and Techno inspiring them. We want to create a night that brings together people in all these scenes, and celebrate the cross pollination.

The event will be held on July 29; kick off from 8pm; and wrap up at 4am.

Our event will be held upstairs at the iconic Landsdowne Hotel. Artists and punters alike are so grateful for the new management of The Landsdowne, so we couldn’t be more stoked to have this event hosted here in the early days of its next phase.
