Join Mel Blue at the Oxford Art Factory for an end of year party to celebrate the release of their latest single, Wake Up Call!

On the back of two sold-out shows, Mel Blue and three of their favorite bands - Abby Bella May, Mesmeriser, and Bronte Public Housing - are bringing their funk-infused electronic-pop to the Oxford Art Factory for their last show of the year.

Mel Blue’s combination of nostalgic bass and of the moment production forms a fresh take on dance pop. At the core of Mel Blue are producers Oscar Sharah (vocals) and Luke Gerber (bass), who created the band as an alter-ego. Shortened from “melancholic blue”, Mel Blue grew out of a side project that captured Sharah and Gerber’s fascination with clashing emotions. Reminiscent yet present, lost yet grateful, melancholic yet content, Mel Blue is the point where all these feelings collide. Sharah and Gerber themselves are two sides of the same coin, one bringing pop sensibility and the other an indie-dance edge, together forming a uniquely personal sound.

Abby Bella May

Sydney-based dream-pop princess Abby Bella May combines floating vocals and lush production to form a unique, low-fi sound that is all her own. Following the successful reception of her previous two singles, "Ice Cream", and "Drive-In Movie" from triple j, Apple Music, and Spotify, Abby is gearing up for her next single off her upcoming debut EP.

Bronte Public House

Bronte Public House bring their anticipated live show to the OAF in celebration of 'All A Dream'. All A Dream’ was written, produced, mixed and mastered by Bronte Public House in August 2020 alongside close friend Oscar Sharah of ‘Mel Blue’. Groovy bass lines and drums meet floating vocals and lush synths. Sam and Jimmy aimed to channel free spirited memories and dance floor nostalgia into a vintage aesthetic. BPH will be accompanied by an art show curated by collaborator Olly Kamp.

Mesmeriser

Performing together since 2013, the band have been thriving in recent years, cutting their teeth as live performers both at home and internationally, bringing their music to venues in London, Budapest, Germany and across Spain. Enticed by the freedom that has come with creating loose, dream-pop soundscapes, Mesmeriser explored more DIY indie rock sounds with These Few Hours, before further navigating that same territory with their current output.
